CeBIT 2012 – a total success for ROCCAT

March 15, 2012

ROCCAT, the German manufacturer of gaming peripherals, successfully launched the ROCCAT Savu Mid-Size Hybrid Gaming Mouse – the new king of optical mice – at this year’s CeBIT trade fair in Hanover, Germany. Feedback from the community, which had the chance to put the Savu through its paces last week on the Acer and XMG by Schenker Notebooks stands, was extremely positive. What they liked in particular was the Savu’s ingenious shape and its attention to detail, its grip, and its size – with many saying they couldn’t imagine using any other mouse, and would gladly have taken the ROCCAT Savu home with them right there and then.Rene Korte CEO ROCCAT

On the business side of things, the level of excitement was just as high. Everyone was really impressed by the Hamburg-based company’s innovative spirit with the ROCCAT Achievement Display – or R.A.D. – as it has incorporated the planet’s first trophy system which is similar in form to one that has so far only existed in games. Following the successful launch of the sales hit – the Kone[+] – at the end of last year, the Savu is the perfect addition to the portfolio in terms its size, technical features and price.

Besides the ROCCAT Savu, CeBIT also marked the launch of the ROCCAT Power-Grid. With the ROCCAT Power-Grid, the manufacturer of gaming peripherals surprised everyone with its entry into software development. The Power-Grid is an app designed for gamers that lets smartphones play a completely new role in gaming. Right from the first week, the number of visitors to the new power-grid.roccat.org website shot through the roof with many thousands registering electronically to become beta testers.

“We’re also really impressed with our work, and are investing huge amounts of time in product development – which is why I’m even more blown away by the incredibly positive feedback we received over the past week,” says René Korte, CEO and Founder of ROCCAT Studios. “In the coming months, we’ll show that our new products are more than up to meeting gamers’ exacting demands. In terms of quality, the Savu is the best mouse we’ve ever built. And the ROCCAT Power-Grid is an unprecedented innovation – the basic version of which will be available to gamers for free. Things are just as exciting as ever at ROCCAT.”
